Brush is a Canadian, family-owned salon in Mount Pleasant, approaching its tenth anniversary and open seven days a week. It runs as two connected businesses at once — a full-service salon and a serious haircare retail operation — so the products the team reaches for behind the chair are the same ones you can take home.

Services

The floor covers cutting, colour and treatments across a deep bench of specialties: lived-in colour and dimensional blondes, balayage, corrective colour, grey blending, curly and precision cutting, texture and perms, and premium extensions. Retail is organized by hair concern — scalp health, hair loss and growth, damage and repair, and men’s hair — so a service can be paired with the right take-home routine.

Technology and brands

The shelf is genuinely premium and unusually broad: Kerastase, Oribe, Davines, Kevin Murphy, R+Co, K18, Dermalogica, Mason Pearson and Coola. Several stylists hold brand credentials — Kerastase Care Coaches and ambassadors, Bumble and Bumble and L’Oreal artists among them — and extensions run through the in-house Harloc line of premium Remy hair.

Team and stylists

Brush was co-founded by Michael Gibson, a colour and extensions specialist who launched the Harloc extension line, and Calvyn Cass, a stylist with international experience across New York, London and beyond. The team runs deep in master and senior stylists — among them Heather Armstrong, Jiji Won, Gio Smaldino and Travis Mercer — spanning corrective colour, curly hair, precision cutting and custom blondes.

The Space

The salon pairs its working floor with a retail experience, so styling stations sit alongside a well-stocked product area organized by concern. It reads as a considered, design-aware room, and the seven-day schedule keeps it accessible. The salon also supports the Canadian Mental Health Association.
