Nuvida is the Yaletown address for Korean salon technique in Vancouver. Almost the entire team trained in Seoul, and the menu reflects it: digital perms, setting perms and permanent straightening are core work here, not an afterthought on a Western cutting menu. A second location has since opened in Coal Harbour.

Services

The salon does haircuts, colour, perms, digital perms and permanent straightening, along with hair and scalp treatments, styling and updos. Consultation is the front end of every service: stylists read face shape, hair density and how much time a guest will spend styling at home, then design around that rather than copy a photo.

Technology and brands

Nuvida works exclusively with La Biosthetique Paris across colour and care, and most of the senior team hold the brand’s Master Colourist qualification — unusually consistent for a salon this size. Digital and setting perms rely on heat-controlled equipment rather than cold waving, which gives Korean perms their softer, longer-lasting movement. Scalp treatments are standalone services.

Team and stylists

Founder Caleb runs the studio as director and educator, with a stated focus on technical precision and on developing his stylists. The senior floor includes Yeoni, who came through top Seoul salons including Cheongdam names; Jiwoo, a former director at a Gangnam salon with more than ten years behind the chair; Eden and Jinny, both from the Chahong school of styling; and branch manager Sophia. The team works in English and Korean.

The Space

The Yaletown room is compact and calm rather than showy, built around consultation seating and a working floor where perm and straightening services need time and space. Because so much of the menu is chemical work, the pace is unhurried.
