Citrus was founded in 2010 on a clear principle: reduce toxins for clients and staff without giving up salon-grade results. What began with a handful of stylists near the Yaletown edge of downtown has grown into a large team, and the healthier-hair philosophy still shapes every choice, from the colour lines to how the room is set up.

Services

The menu runs deep. Colour includes partial and all-over balayage and highlights, foil-by-foil lightening, root touch-ups and full colour. Cutting is split by specialty — curly cuts by a dedicated curl master, taper and barber cuts, and technical work for thick or difficult hair. There are keratin-tip fusion and weft extensions, wash-and-style, evening updos, makeup and treatments, with a scalp massage, styling and coffee included.

Technology and brands

Citrus leans on lower-toxicity, ammonia-reduced colour, with stylists trained on Organic Colour Systems, Redken Shades EQ and Kevin Murphy, and it accommodates guests with allergies and sensitivities. Extensions run through Great Lengths, Bellami and Hotheads. Sensitivity consultations are a normal part of booking.

Team and stylists

The salon was founded by Antonella, who started with six stylists and now leads a team of more than two dozen across clearly defined levels from junior to master. Master stylists include extension specialists like Deidre and Raana, colour-correction and balayage experts like Meaghan and Lora, and precision cutters such as Gypsy and Kim, several with twenty-plus years of experience.

The Space

The interior is modern and industrial-leaning — exposed ceiling pipework, black styling chairs against warm wooden accents, large windows and a decorative chandelier. There is a retail area of skincare and body products and an in-salon bar, and the layout separates styling, consultation and retail into distinct zones.
